Room Three: Ladybirds Room

In the Ladybirds room our aim is to continue to help the children develop life skills and foster a love of learning. In our room of 2-3 year olds we mainly work by the following right of human existence: We respect ourselves, we respect each other and we respect things and property”

Each day our room can cater for up to 12 Children with three educators, at least two of which hold a Diploma in Childrens Services, allowing us to meet the childrens individual needs and routines.

We aim to ensure our learning environment reflects all the children. Their individual interest’s needs and personalities are reflected like an image in a mirror. The experiences provided are founded upon the most natural materials available. The Program planning is an organic process created from the children’s expressed interest. Children will be guided to play with the respect principles outlined above and enjoy fun, joy and laughter.

Our program is based both indoors and outdoors. We are very privileged to have our own garden and play area exclusively for the Grasshoppers and Ladybirds rooms.  Our outdoor program meets the children’s needs for various sensory and tactile experiences in a natural environment as well as opportunities to develop gross and fine motor skills, to play and have fun.
